Caitlyn approaches directing like she approaches life; with an insatiable curiosity coupled with a need to push herself and her craft into new directions and forms.
A skilled and critically acclaimed editor by trade, when directing, she applies her critical mind and editor’s instinct for storytelling craft with rich visuals in unexpected ways. Whether heartfelt or macabre, huge or minute, above all else, Caitlyn is interested in telling stories that pull at the threads of our beautiful and bizarre existence as human beings.
Her work as an editor has earned her an Emmy for HBO’s Peabody Award-winning series The Jinx, as well as a Best Editing Award at Tribeca Film Festival for the feature documentary When Lambs Become Lions. And her directing work has earned her a spot in the SHOOT New Directors Showcase, a Vimeo Staff Pick Best of the Year, and has screened at SXSW and Sundance, among others.
